About Us

The Glamorgan Drama League is run by a Delegates Committee which meets about 10 times a year.

Each member group is encouraged to send a delegate to meetings which usually take place in Pontyclun on Saturday mornings as these seem to be the most convenient to most people. The Current Officers of the GDL are as follows:

President: Peggy Mason-Gray
(deceased 8th March 2007)
  Chairman: Teri McCarthy

Vice Chair: Lon David   Secretary: John Minkes

Treasurer: Suzy Stacy   Development & Training Officer: post currently vacant

We organise two regular festivals: The Glammies and the One-Act Play Festival.

Bits about us

A major part of our history was the Maytime Festival of full-length plays which finished in 2002 after 25 years.

This has now effectively been replaced by the Glammies, which is our year-long, peripatetic full-length festival.
One of the important roles of the GDL is networking between groups, who without their contact with the GDL would hardly know that other groups exist.

An example of how this can benefit groups came up recently when a member group lost its storage space and was having to get rid of all its scenery etc. Another group offered to share their facility.
We also arrange training and other opportunities.  For further information see our Other Activities page.

We welcome suggestions for training and development ideas: please do let us know if you have any ideas we could help you with.

We are not a registered charity, but here's our constitution (Word Document 42Kb).
