Swansea Little Theatre's Of Mice and Men Spring 2008

This is the website for the Glamorgan Drama League: an umbrella organisation for local theatre groups in South Wales and one of the UK's most active amateur drama associations.

See our News page for the latest information about member companies:  who's auditioning, who's performing what and when, and any other stories you'd like to share.

NB from this year we will be insisting that 4 weeks' notice is given for any entry to the Glammies. There will be no exceptions to this.

Please note that as of 22 August 2008, the email address glamdramaleague@aol.com will no longer be in use. All emails to the webmaster, or to Lon David in connection with the Glammies should use the alternative email address: glammies@aol.com

The Glammies

Details on what the Glammies is all about are on our Glammies page, or you could go straight to the information for the current year.

Short Cut
Need an Appraisers' Marking Sheet? You'll need the Marking Guidelines to go with it.

See who won which awards at this year's Glammies presentation night at the Electricity Club on May 17th. Photogallery now available.

The League covers the geographical area formerly defined by the old county of Glamorgan (which means Swansea and the Gower in the west, Cardiff to the east, and as far north as Merthyr).

We currently have 15 fully-paid up member groups, including 3 youth groups, and several individual members, but are always keen to welcome more.  Take a look at our list of current members, and what the GDL and its members are up to by checking out the News page.

You can also use the links to find out more about us and about our history.

We have two major areas of on-going activity:

  • The Glammies  - an annual evening of review and celebration of the best of the year's work
  • One-Act Festival  - our local round of the national One-Act play competition

We would be delighted to hear from you - perhaps you'd like to perform at one of our festivals, or you've an idea for a training weekend - do use our Contact page for the details on how to reach us.

Check out our links page.  If you'd like a link to this page (whether or not you can include us on your site) please let the webmaster know.

One-Act Play Festivals 08

GDL members Telstars Theatre Company, from Cardiff, represented Glamorgan extremely well at the Wales Final in Blackwood but it was Blackwood Little Theatre who finally made it it through to the British final in Swansea. Well done, Telstars!

For a full overview of our most recent local One-Act Festival, see the One-Act08 page.
Photogallery now available here.

Please let us know about your news or your productions. They don't have to be entered in the Glammies to be included on this site. Please contact the webmaster with details of the show, images etc.
