Glamorgan Drama League

The Glamorgan Drama League organises the local round which is part of the national Wales One-Act Play Competition.

For many years it was the Berwyn Festival of One-Act plays, based at the Berwyn Centre in Nantymoel, but returned to Cardiff in 2005. Crossing the county has proved a positive move and to that end, following the success at the venue in 2006, 2007 and 2008 once again the festival was held, 7-9 May 2009, at the Dylan Thomas Theatre, courtesy of our hosts, Swansea Little Theatre.

2010

This year's One-Act Festival dates will be

Glamorgan Drama League: Thursday 22nd - Saturday 24th April 2010 at the Dylan Thomas Theatre, Swansea.

Wales Final: Friday 6th and Saturday 7th June 2010 - Taliesin Theatre, Swansea University.

British Final: Friday 25th & Saturday 26th June 2010 at the Village Theatre, East Kilbride, Glasgow.

All materials for entry (rules, forms etc.) for 2010 are now available on our One-Act 2010 resources page.

These include the rules of entry, and a separate document which includes checklists, and all the other information you need to enter.

Tickets are now available. They will cost £8 per night (£6 for concessions), but a special 3-night Festival Ticket is available at just £20 (£15 concessions). You can book through the Dylan Thomas Theatre website or call the box office on 01792 473238.

The annual Festivals round is completed with the NDFA (National Drama Festivals Association) 37th British All Winners Festival: Sunday 25th to Saturday 31st July 2010 at The Thameside Theatre in Grays, Essex.

The winning plays of the Regional Festivals who are members of N.D.F.A. will be eligible to submit their plays for consideration in the final at Grays.
